Learn & Grow Session IV: APA Experiences & Opportunities in Public Sector

DETROIT, MI – On Saturday, September 14, 2019, the National Association of Asian American Professionals (NAAAP) Detroit Chapter will hold Learn & Grow Series session IV at the Plymouth District Library located at 223 S Main St, Plymouth, MI 48170. This session will be an interactive panel discussion in which our esteemed panelists will share their perspectives and answer questions about their experience in public service. Panel members will also provide insight into various opportunities available to run for elected offices, to get appointed on State boards and Commissions as well as career opportunities with some of the premier federal government agencies. Public service was identified as a topic of interest in our participatory brainstorming workshop on 2019 trending topics, back in April.

State Senator Stephanie Chang, State Representative Padma Kuppa, Chairwoman of Northern Michigan University Board of Trustees Sook Wilkinson, and Northville School Board Vice President Roland Hwang will talk about what motivated them to seek office, and how they got there. Visit NAAAP Detroit www.naaapdetroit.org and www.naaapdetroit.org/event/190914-l-g/ for further information. Register online at https://naaapdet091419.eventbrite.sg.
