OPEN HOUSE: National Association of Asian American Professionals Announced New Detroit Chapter
DETROIT, MI – The National Association of Asian American Professionals (NAAAP) was delighted to formally open its Detroit Chapter with an Open House held on Wednesday, August 10th in the iconic Rotating Rotunda room at the Edward Hotel & Convention Center. The event was overwhelmingly successful, filling the venue with a diverse crowd all across the Greater Detroit community.
NAAAP is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that cultivates and empowers Asian leaders through professional development, community service, and networking. NAAAP has a long tradition in this country and there are so much energy and enthusiasm for the future of NAAAP Detroit Chapter. NAAAP Detroit Chapter encourages friends to join to provide leadership development programs and experiences among Asian American & Pacific Islander professionals and entrepreneurs.
A social mixer kicked off the event, which was followed by remarks from Michigan Asian Pacific American Affairs Commission (MAPAAC) Chairperson Dr. Jamie Hsu, GM Chief Diversity Officer Ken Barrett and NAAAP Detroit Chapter Founder/President Ke Zhang-Miske (Coco), about NAAAP and the new Detroit Chapter. A short presentation from committees concluded the event. Attendees at the Open House were introduced to the NAAAP Detroit Chapter, including NAAAP’s History, Mission, and committee information.
The Open House would not have been possible without the support of three key sponsors: MAPAAC, General Motors, LLC, and the Edward Hotel. The venue host, Edward Hotel, outdid itself through its exceptional culinary and hospitality staff providing extraordinary dining experiences for guests at the event. Meteorologist and reporter Andrew Humphrey of WDIV-TV Local 4, also helped spread the word about the event. NAAAP Detroit Chapter greatly appreciates the generosity of these company sponsors and media sponsor.
NAAAP Detroit Chapter will hold its first Inaugural Gala Party at the Edward Hotel & Convention Center on October 28, 2016. For more detailed information please contact (810) 602-9850 or [email protected].
