What a beautiful White Christmas we had for 2017! Whether you built a snow man, skied, had a snowball fight, or sang Christmas carols, I hope you had fun!

NAAAP Detroit also had a fruitful year! We officially registered with the State of Michigan and became a 501 c3 non-profit organization. We passed bylaws and formed our Board of Directors. We collaborated with DIA and MAPACC and celebrated Asian Heritage Month. We launched Learn & Grow Series and Women in NAAAP Detroit Program.

As I walked in a labyrinth the other day, I couldn’t help thinking what a good metaphor it is for our real life. Sometimes we thought we are so close to what we want, another turn it seems to take us far away from it.

The journey we are taking with NAAAP is like walking in a labyrinth. Sometimes it is obvious we are walking toward the center, sometimes it is not that straight forward. But rest assured, we are focused on our missions and continuously sharpening our vision!

2018 will be an exciting year! We will be members focused, and community oriented. We will stay on course and march toward our center. We will be focused on providing programs to help our members gain the skills necessary to become confident and authentic leaders. We will stay on the path to making a meaningful difference in government, education, business, and the community.

I am grateful that we have you walking on the journey with us! Thank you for volunteering! Thank you for contributing your time and talent! I wish you a happy and healthy New Year! Faith, Hope, Love, Peace, and Joy to you, and to the World!
