Beth H. Cafaro, JD

Former Regional Vice President of Saint Joseph Mercy Health System and Vice President of Henry Ford Health System

Ms. Cafaro joined Catholic Health Initiatives as its Vice President Physician Practice Operations/President and CEO of CHI Physician Services for Catholic Health Initiatives in Englewood Colorado. In this role Ms. Cafaro was the national administrative lead CHI’s Physician enterprise, which currently employs 3500 providers across 8 regional markets.

Prior to her role at CHI Ms. Cafaro served as Regional Vice President of Health Networks for Saint Joseph Mercy Health System part of Trinity Health in South East Michigan. In her role Ms. Cafaro was responsible for the Ambulatory enterprise of SJMHS five Ministry Organizations focusing the majority of her attention on Practice acquisition, Private Practice alignment and development of the Systems Clinically Integrated network and infrastructure support for Accountable Care and Population Management Initiatives.

Prior to joining SJMHS Ms. Cafaro served as Vice President of Medical Staff Affairs and Physician Practice Development and Management for the Henry Ford Health System located in Detroit, Michigan. In her role Ms. Cafaro was responsible for the Physician Recruitment, Practice acquisitions, Physician Relations and Physician Practice Development and Management activities for the Henry Ford Health System which includes the Henry Ford Medical Group (HFMG) a multi-specialty group practice of 1300 physicians, and all affiliated HFHS System Hospitals.

During her time at HFHS, Ms. Cafaro also served as the Vice President of Human Resources and Staff Services for the Henry Ford Medical Group (HFMG) and Behavioral Health Services. In this role Ms. Cafaro was responsible for development and implementation of human resource initiatives, recruitment and retention of professional and support staff, advising physician leaders, supervisors, and managers on employee/labor relations matters, compensation, benefits, leadership development and training and credentialing of professional staff.

Ms. Cafaro also served as Senior Corporate Counsel at HFHS specializing in labor and employment law.

Ms. Cafaro received her B.S. degree from Western Michigan University in 1977, Legal Assistance degree from Oakland University in 1980, and her JD cum laude in 1987 from Detroit College of Law. Prior to joining HFHS, Ms. Cafaro was an associate at the law firm Kitch, Saurbier, Drutchas, Wagner & Kennedy located in Detroit, Michigan.
