Jocelyn Chen

Jocelyn Chen is the principle of Jocelyn Chen Design and the founder of the not-for-profit organization DesignConnect. Before quitting her job in August 2016 to focus on her family and to cultivate her passion for art history and design, she served as the chief of staff for the VP of Design at General Motors for three years.  Prior to that position, she was the Operations Director of GM China Design.  Her responsibilities included overseeing the conception and construction of GM’s newest studio in Shanghai from ground up, as well as day-to-day operations of the design organization in China.  Jocelyn’s tenure at GM spanned over twenty years, comprising of a diverse range of positions in manufacturing, engineering and design.  She holds a B.S. in Engineering from Oakland University, a Master degree in Electrical Engineering from Purdue University.  She is completing her B.A. in Art History and plans to pursue advanced degrees.
